We are trying to be VJs with a difference.
Most commonly, VJ images are very clever, visually stunning graphics
but they often have little, or no meaning. We want to do something
more with what we think is a very powerful medium. We want to VJ with
a message. Our policy is to always shoot our own video and make our own images.
We would like to show our work in all different places: festivals,
galleries, forests, anywhere we can get our message across. We are
currently working with musician Tony Keal (Toluene) who is making
some original music to VJ with. We hope to collaborate with the 'punk-a-delic'
band Beautiful
Life We have already done VJ workshops funded by Reading Borough Council to teach teachers how to teach kids in school how to VJ collectively and make a group piece, and we are going into some more schools to help them achieve this goal. For this project we sourced free software from Open Source so that schools can afford to do the workshops. We now want to teach the kids directly and show them how they can be creative with VJ software and live music. Kids will love it, it's fun, easy to learn, involves lots of teamwork and is very accessible and attractive to young people from all backgrounds. We are both experienced practitioners teaching workshops to young people on all types of art projects. |
